This is the best recipe for Rice Krispie treats. They are so easy to make and have the perfect amount of gooey marshmallow!
Kinda strange, now that I think about it, considering these are so quick to whip up.
My son has a birthday coming up and he has requested a cake that will involve this easy dessert, so I thought now was as good a time as any to perfect this recipe.
I started by checking out the original recipe from the cereal box as well as scoping out Pinterest. For a dessert with 3 main ingredients, there sure are a ton of variations…just sayin’.
Apparently, there are two different kinds of Rice Krispie treats…very gooey and the kind that scrapes the top of your mouth. I was looking for something in between. If they were too gooey, they wouldn’t hold their shape for the cake I’m using them on and nobody wants a mouth injury after eating a Rice Krispie treat that’s too dry.
I ended up combining a few tips with the original version to come up with the best recipe for Rice Krispie treats. These don’t fall apart when you pick them up but have just enough gooey goodness you’re looking for.
I just added to the hundreds of other variations of Rice Krispie treats, didn’t I?
